Belton Regional Medical Center has announced that Billy D. Wyatt, MD, has been appointed as the new Medical Director for the Emergency Department effective November 1, 2012. In his role as Medical Director, Dr. Wyatt will provide the medical leadership required to support the growth, development and operations of medical services at Belton Regional Medical Center Level 3 Trauma Center. Most recently Dr. Wyatt was an Emergency Medicine Physician at Center Point Medical Center, a Level 2 Trauma Center in Independence, MO. Dr. Wyatt has served in various roles of Emergency Medicine including Medical Director and Associate Medical Director of Emergency Services at Lakeview Hospital, a Level 3 Trauma Center in Stillwater, MN.

He understands what matters most to our patients and their families is safe, effective, quality health care,” stated Todd Krass, CEO. “He brings our hospital a wealth of emergency medicine experience and will be a great asset as we continue to serve the patients in our communities.”
Dr. Wyatt earned his B.S. in Biochemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia and then went to the University Of Tennessee School Of Medicine and received his M.D. In addition, he then completed a Residency in Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Family Physicians, he is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine through ABPS, and is Board Certified Family Medicine ABFM.
On a personal note, Dr. Wyatt is very familiar with our local communities having grown up and graduating from high school in the south Kansas City area. He and his wife reside in Kansas City, MO and are new parents who just welcomed triplets into their family. In his leisure time he enjoys basketball, fishing, piloting and cooking.
