WHY: Belton Regional Medical Center—part of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City’s leading healthcare provider—hosts its 10th Annual Family Friendly Community Block Party and Health Fair with a focus on family health and well being.
Free activities for children include Touch A Truck-Belton, EMS ambulance, Touch A Truck-South, Metro fire truck, Bounce House, face painting, balloon animals, children’s games and activities, half-pint heroes, miniature horses, a tooth brush giveaway and more. There will also be free chair massages, popcorn and hospital tours and more than 30 booths providing healthcare exhibits and screenings.
“This is one of the most important public events we do all year, to connect with the community we serve and provide not only fun but important and practical health information,” says Belton Regional Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Todd Krass. “We love this community and its well being is integral to its continued growth and success and on behalf of the hospital’s employees, look forward to welcoming area residents to our beautiful campus.”
A 5K walk/run for health sponsored by the Cass Community Foundation will kick off at 7:30 with registration. All proceeds will benefit the Cass County Dental Clinic, which provides urgent and preventative dental care to low-income children and adolescents. Funds also help support the scholarship program for high school students interested in a healthcare career.
