As our community continues to adjust to the COVID-19 outbreak, we here at Belton Regional Medical Center are ramping up our efforts to ensure uninterrupted care for those who count on us.
While healthcare facilities across the nation face limited supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE), we are taking action to ensure our caregivers are protected. We currently have adequate supplies of PPE, and we continue to source additional supplies. However, our utilization rate is increasing dramatically, so we are following CDC guidelines to conserve the PPE and we’ve implemented a PPE conservation and reprocessing initiative.
What to donate
What has been most amazing is the response we have received from so many in the community asking how they can help. The kindness and generosity from individuals, businesses and organizations is truly overwhelming. For those that are looking for ways to help, we are accepting community donations of the following items:
- Masks,* specifically manufacturer-grade N-95 and surgical masks
- Disposable gloves
- Goggles
- Eye shields
- Industrial soap
- Antibacterial/disinfectant wipes
*Please note that homemade masks are discouraged as they must be assessed to ensure they’re safe and effective for a clinical setting.
