At Belton Regional Medical Center, we are committed to offering state-of-the-art imaging technology to our patients. If you or someone you love is in need of diagnostic imaging services, trust PET/CT scans for accurate images using advanced technology.
What is PET/CT?
PET/CT is a highly sophisticated imaging technique that combines two scans during a single exam, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computerized Tomography (CT). A PET scan produces pictures of the function and metabolism of the cells in the body, while a CT scan shows the dimensions of vessels, lymph nodes and organ systems. Combing these two images provides detailed information to physicians about the presences or spread of disease and accurately identifies its precise location. PET/CT scans are commonly used in detecting, diagnosing and staging various types of disease, including cancer.
- The high-definition technology delivers razor sharp images that offer uniform, high-detailed resolution across the entire field of view and provides a complete picture of what is happening in the body.
- With an oversized bore and short tunnel, the scanner’s large opening scanning zone accommodates a variety of patients and diminishes the sense of claustrophobia.
- Fully integrated with radiation oncology services to provide the most precise target delineation for cancer treatment.
